Tuesday Teaser and Trivia

Those readers who mark memes as unread in their Google Reader probably won't read this, which makes it somewhat pointless to ask, but do you enjoy my teaser and trivia Tuesdays? I added my own feature to Teaser Tuesdays as I wanted it to be original and also fun; I partake in this particular meme to give me one day where I can concentrate on reading and preparing other posts and I also occasionally -like today- use it to update you on me and/or my blog and use it like a salon in miniature. However, if its not working for my readership then I will happily re-evaluate. There is never a dip in my visitors on Tuesdays but I do enjoy feedback, so what do you think?

A few Christmases ago my boyfriend bought me the Book Lovers Edition of Trivial Pursuit and I thought I could virtually play with my fellow book lovers, or at least ask you a weekly literary question. So here goes (if you win then please treat yourself to a slice of pie/cake/pizza/delete where appropriate)...

From the Book Club section:

What Louisiana Creole term did Rebecca Wells redefine as "a person who is afraid and still drinks of life very deeply"?

Quote a couple of spoiler-free sentences from the book you’re reading to tempt others.

"Fermat and Descartes were only able to find one pair each. They're linked to each other by some divine scheme, and how incredible that your birthday and this number on my watch should be just such a pair."
From The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa p. 19

I don't read the Tuesday Teaser bit of your post (if I'm being honest), but I do very much enjoy the trivia questions! (Even though I almost never know the answer, lol.)

And I've got Housekeeper & Professor waiting for me at library-yay! I was worried it wouldn't arrive in time for the discussion.

I quite like the teaser but I would rarely comment on it...so ti depends whether you want feedback on the post or not!

I like reading teasers but don't comment very often.

I love your trivia segment though! If only I knew the answers... :P

I do enjoy your trivia questions but I only comment if I know the answer or if I particularly enjoyed the teaser.

Thanks for the honestly, Eva. At least you noticed which book I teased from! Looking forward to the discussion.

Also, you knew the answer to the trivia question last week!

Jennifer, that is quite the teaser! Certainly caught my attention.

Verity, I don't mean weekly feedback but feedback about how much the features are enjoyed - I don't mind if people aren't commenting as long as they are still reading and enjoying.

Kals, I guess people will comment if they know the answers and just trying to guage whether people are reading.

Mrs. B, that is fair enough and all I really need to know. Thanks!

I enjoy reading easers. I want to know the answer to your trivia question. The Trivial Pursuit bgame sounds like a wonderful gift. My tease.

I like both but I have to say if am late to the post then I wont comment as I assume someone will probably have guessed the trivia bit early on and I only read the teaser for the tease, if that makes sense? Probably not very helpful.

Plus, I don't like to comment the answer to the trivia in case it spoils it for someone else!

Hi Book Dilettante, thanks for commenting. Hopefully someone will actually attempt this week's trivia question and give you the answer! I thought this was an easy one but apparently not. One of the best gifts indeed!

Simon, that was helpful, thanks! Nothing stopping you from still guessing though, as long as you haven't seen the answer in the comments.

Verity, fair point but I work on a first come first served basis! Besides, most often or not I receive the same answer a few times so looks like people prefer playing to reading comments (which is a good thing!)

I like the teasers for the same reason as you. I do read them, but don't comment often. The trivia is fun... I know I'm going to kick myself when I hear the correct answer to this one.

JoAnn, the answer is

YA-YA!
