Hibernation

The above book arrived (thanks, Steph!) and I'm hibernating today until it's finished. Do you do that too? Count down the days until a book is released and then drop everything else until you have read it? I am often incommunicado for a book and I wouldn't have it any other way.
See you tomorrow.

I would love to drop everything and read a book, but unfortunately my two little boys don't allow that to happen! As soon as they're asleep I hide away and can read a great book into the night. I hope that it lived up to expectaions.

I can only imagine, Jackie. That's one of the reasons that I'm not tempted to have children - the effect it would have on my reading time! Of course, parents would argue that the pay-off is so much more ;).
It did live up to my expectations.

Something that I dream about but have not managed since becoming a mother and dog owner, sigh. As a child, I would read for hours and then my mother would kick me out of the house for some fresh air. Enjoy this blissful time of peace and quiet with a good book, Claire!

Claire, so glad to hear you enjoyed it - can't wait for your review!

Hehe - I'm amused by the comments about children - I think reading and lack of sleep is the only thing that now stands between me and wanting children. Glad you have something so absorbing.

Darlene, I plan for this blissful time of peace and quiet to continue - I'm going to have cats! My cat Mandoo never disturbs my reading and is always content to sit on my lap, beneath my book, with the occasional nudge for affection!

Steph, I can't wait to discuss it with you! I'm off to read your interview with him now!

Hello Verity, lovely to see you :P.
Lack of sleep is another reason why I don't think I'm cut out for parenthood - I'm a fiend without enough sleep! It's selfish but realistic; I'd be worried for the child's safety if I was a mother.
I was thoroughly absorbed and desperately needed that after a book slump.

anothercookie, I have been bundled and layered up! Today, for instance, I am wearing toe-socks and Uggs to keep my tootsies warm!

Oh yea, have done that lots of times. Wonderful, isn't it? Hope your hibernation and book reading is all that you want it to be and more.

Oh Carl, it was! I was then fully immersed in the book that followed it and I love that feeling of complete submission to what I am reading and enjoying.
