Quote a couple of spoiler-free sentences from the book you’re reading to tempt others.
"He was the only person - well, almost - who knew where she was going. He was, alas, not the only person who knew why she was going."
Hotel du Lac by Anita Brookner p. 29

A booker themed read for the start of this years booker shenanigans? I must read that this week...
It was by chance... although I did intend to read it this week. Apt though.
Good timing for the book choice!
Very! At least it's a short Booker winner!
I'm really looking forward to Coetzee as well. Of the long list, I'll probably read Summertime, The Wilderness and The Little Stranger. Will tackle the entire shortlist once it's announced though.
By the way, I thought Hotel du Lac was brilliant, so, I really hope you enjoy it.
anothercookie, I think tackling the shortlist is a wise idea! The ones I am currently looking forward to reading most are Summertime and The Quickening Maze; I've read The Wilderness and The Little Stranger.
I too am mightily impressed by Hotel du Lac!
What a thrill to discover your wonderful blog. From a quick read I have already filled a page of my notebook with titles I must read. I would love to join the Persephone Reading Week. I can feel another order coming on.
Hi Di, thanks for commenting :). We would love to have you join us for Persephone Reading Week - any excuse for a Persephone order is okay by us!
