Teaser Tuesdays

Quote a couple of spoiler-free sentences from the book you’re reading to tempt others.

"Instead of men kissing you, and touching you with their bodies, they revealed their minds to you. It was great fun! But what cold minds!" Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence

What a great quote, that is really apt for Lady Chatterley, and if I hadn't read it, I'd be desperate to!

Thank you!

I am not that far into Lady Chatterley's Lover yet but knew that this quote would be a good one to share.

Great quote! I read that with my book club several years ago, and was one of only two members that even finished :-(

I'm not a big fan of Lawrence - I think he's a small-minded misogynist and a second-rate writer. I'll be interested to her what you think of him!

Rebecca, I have a similar opinion of Lawrence but this is a book group choice; hopefully we will fare better than JoAnn's!

I love this book so much. I can't wait to hear your final thoughts. I had the same impression of Lawrence as Rebecca until I took a class on him that forced me to actually read him carefully. To my complete surprise, I fell in love with his work, and found no traces of misogyny in what I've read so far (which is only a small sample - I don't mean to say that those who do have that opinion don't have their reasons).

I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised with Lady Chatterley's Lover although I'm not that far into it.

I struggled with Women in Love for Uni and many, many years ago I gave up on Sons and Lovers close to the end because I loathed Mrs Morel.
